Lest We Forget

Today, Virginia Tech will remember the lives of the 32 students and faculty who were taken from their loved ones and the university community on this day in 2007.

All of us in the academic community should reflect on what happened, how we can try to prevent future occurrences like it and simply remember those affected by it.

I have written in the past here about my own connections to that day. I have been through a range of feelings about that day from relief, to sadness, through anger and back to relief to start the cycle again. Those feelings and those people remain very much a part of my thoughts on many days.
