Why Serendipity35?
Why ser·en·dip·i·ty?
Function: noun
Etymology: from the Persian fairy tale The Three Princes of Serendip
Meanings: a) phenomenon of finding valuable or agreeable things not sought for b) a blog system implemented with PHP that we used to create this blog.
NOTE We created it to teach workshops on blogging which was relatively new in 2006.
Why 35?
For something supposedly serendipitous, why attach a specific number? Well, we like irony, but it was also the number of our budgetary division at New Jersey Institute of Technology which at the time of our creation contained the department of Continuing Professional Education and the department of Instructional Technology and Media Services - homes to Tim Kellers and Ken Ronkowitz respectively.
Once upon a time, we had a Technorati Profile because once upon a time there was Technorati.
